abstract = "The quick process of real estate speculation in the Municipality
of Planaltina (GO), a township in Brasilia surroundings, has
caused the emergence of low dense allotment, with inadequate urban
infrastructure and without attending the environmental
restrictions. The result is the design of drinkable water supply
network without the foresight of population growth and new
territorial occupation. Therefore, this paper aims to elaborate a
proposal to update Planaltinas drinkable water pipe network as a
project for the next 35 years, considering a temporal analysis of
land-use and land-cover, in the sense of subsidizing future
municipal planning of the urban area. The methodology used banked
on the elaboration maps of land-use and land-cover for the years
1984, 1999 and 2015, using algorithms image processing from the
Landsat satellite, in the SPRING system, aptitude map to urban
expansion using weighted linear combination in the ArcGIS system
and a proposition of the water distribution pipe network using the
EPANET system. The results obtained with the methodology applied
were satisfactory: the maps of land-use and land-cover show how
the expansion process physically happened; the aptitude map
indicated the areas that are prone to urban consolidation; and,
the simulation of pipe network proposition was successful in the
adjustment of the old structures to the NBR (Brazilian standard)
requirements and the Tsutya (2004) recommendations.",
